The situation in Lebanon is not just devastating; it's an unprecedented-scale crisis. In the last few days, 700 lives have been tragically lost, and over 3,000 civilians have been injured, some in critical condition. Thousands of families are fleeing their homes in panic and are now seeking shelter in crowded schools as more Israeli airstrikes tear through neighborhoods today. After almost a year of gradual escalation, more than 116,000 people in Lebanon have been displaced and are in desperate need of aid. Global Fund's appeal is to raise an initial $100 thousand to expand our efforts to provide vital aid to displaced families. Last week, Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida as a Category 4 storm and has caused devastating destruction across the southeastern US. Our hearts and thoughts are with those affected by this disaster including our associates, their families and friends and our customers and communities. This fund has been setup to support our people and communities, by donating to the established non profits who are on the ground supporting relief efforts. Williams-Sonoma, Inc. will match associate donations to this fund so for every dollar you donate, WSI will match that dollar donation. Donations will be directed to three organizations: American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen and Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. As you may know, Hurricane Helene has hit our communities where so many of our employees and customers call home. Red Cross Responders are working around the clock with FEMA and other First Responders, in North Carolina to get help to those in need. They are setting up Shelters which will provide meals, emotional support and relief supplies.

In October, we celebrate Italian-American Heritage Month, honoring the traditions, history, achievements, and cultural contributions of Italian-Americans.

We are profoundly saddened by the devastating destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, resulting in loss of life and intensifying humanitarian needs in the Southeastern U.S., including especially Florida’s Gulf Coast, the Big Bend region, and Western North Carolina. As an organization committed to giving to those less fortunate than ourselves, AMG has committed to a $50,000 gift toward humanitarian support, benefiting the charitable organizations below that are providing immediate aid to those directly impacted by this natural disaster. AMG will match donations to the AMG Supporting Victims of Hurricane Helene Fund or any of the individual organizations on a 1:1 basis, up to $250,000, cumulatively, and donations to these will not count against your annual gift-matching limit of $5,000.

Hurricane Helene made landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida on the evening of September 26, 2024 as a powerful category 4 hurricane, resulting in life-threatening storm surges, heavy rainfall and up to 140 MPH winds. Homes, businesses, and infrastructure are facing catastrophic damage and over 1 million homes in Florida faced power outages, with another 2 million experiencing outages across Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and southern Virginia. Severe flooding has permeated Florida's northwestern coast, with the storm moving inland and ravaging multiple western North Carolina communities. Asheville, NC became virtually inaccessible due to flooding and storm damage, and the village of Chimney Rock has been destroyed, along with several others. The storm also made a devastating impact across multiple Eastern Tennessee communities, leaving significant damage and destruction in its wake. Communities in Georgia, South Carolina, and southern Virginia are also experiencing impacts due to severe flooding. More than 200 storm-related deaths have been reported, with many others still missing. Relief efforts are underway, and the following nonprofits are providing critical resources in the form of emergency shelter, food, water, medical treatment, and supplies to those impacted. Your donation to this Fund will help support both immediate and long-term recovery efforts. Please note the organizations included in this Fund are subject to change as we learn more about needs on the ground.
